Seven built-in roles decide what each person can see and do. Roles are fixed for now.
The roles
- Owner: everything, including billing, ownership transfer and deletion. At least one per organization.
- Admin: everything except billing and ownership.
- Manager: runs the team, approves, sends and edits, within assigned locations.
- Member: day-to-day work on their own and shared conversations.
- Limited: only records assigned to them, for contractors and part-time staff.
- Viewer: read-only, for accountants and advisors.
- ZI agent: what ZI may do, never more than the role of the person who set it up.
Read the Permissions table
Open Settings, then Permissions, to see what each role can do across 34 permissions. The legend is:
- Allowed
- Allowed within assigned locations or own records
- Allowed with approval
- View only
- Not allowed
Roles are fixed, so the table is for reading. To change what someone can do, change their role on the Users page.
When something is blocked
The server refuses the action and says which permission is needed. The page then shows what you cannot see and who can give you access.
